Let It Always Feel Like This



Single life is fun and all, but being in a relationship with someone who you could swear was completely and without a doubt made for you... That's just a tad bit better. 
I've been in relationships before, but not like this one. I'm not about the ooey gooey lovey "ok we get that you two are in love" type of posts, but I've realized a lot of things after being with someone like I have, and so I'll tell you what I think.
I think... that I totally get it now. I get why we need someone else. I get why marriage is such a heavenly and sacred thing. I get the saying that "two is better than one". I get all of it. 
Nothing rings more true in my ears. 
Being in love with your best friend could very possibly be one of life's greatest blessings.
I have loved many times. Or so I thought. But I don't know if I completely understood what love was. And maybe I still don't completely understand it's depths.
But to care about someone so deeply that you would put every single one of their needs and wants in front, or rather, in place of your needs and wants... That's love.
There's no better feeling than to have someone that you can call yours. To have someone to do everything with - the fun activities and the boring chores of everyday life. Having someone to plan the future with  and dream of adventures that you'll most likely never go on with.
Someone to. Be. With. 
Never having to explain what you feel because they already know. A person that knows you better than you know yourself, and can tell just by your facial expressions what is going through your mind. A friend that will laugh with you and cry with you. Someone who sees you for everything you are and everything you're not, but still loves you anyway.
If love could always feel this way, I hope and pray I never have to live without it again.

For the last year, I have been more than ready to be on my own. You know, the "I'm sick of being at home and I want to make my own freakin rules" type of thinking. Well, here I am, in my corner of the apartment, living just thirty-five minutes from South Jordan and the house I love to call my true home. There's nothing wrong with Provo, UT, but I find myself feeling like I am just on a little vacation. Like there's no possible way that this is my new home. It's as if Room 202 is a stranger and I am stuck sitting next to it on the city bus. But it's ok because I know that after the next few stops I'll be getting off and won't have to see this stranger or feel the awkward, silent tension between us ever again. But nope. Haha! For the next year, this place, this apartment, this room, is my new home. Now, of course I know it's just going to take some getting use to and some unwanted adjustments, but right now, the silence is killing...

Some Sort of Person

Some sort of person you are. Spending moments with you seems unfair to everyone else. But in those moments, I don't care to be so selfish. I'd take all of your time if I could. I feel as though you stand above me and pull the strings attached to the corners of my mouth. You are, after all, the reason for my smile. Smiling has never been so easy, effortless, and simple.  I wonder sometimes if you know how often the words "I love you" come into my mind. I don't say it every time. Ooey Gooey Words

In this lifetime.. Goodbyes and heartbreak are almost inevitable. There's a beginning and there's an end. A point when everything you've known becomes everything you knew. And still, at the height of it all, it doesn't matter. Because there's no better feeling than being with someone who knows you and accepts you. Even for just a short while.
